Beverly Hills King

A shy CPA. A sophisticated Parisian. They say opposites attract…

Accountant Lucas Sutton is comfortable taking charge, as long as he’s behind a computer screen. So opening the final luxury hotel for the Hotel Kings on time, and on budget, is way out of his comfort zone. He can’t afford a single distraction. A distraction like his intriguing, beautiful concierge.

Brigitte Thibault flits around the globe, never finding a place to call home, until Beverly Hills starts to feel like something more. An innocent kiss with her strait-laced boss flames into white hot desire. Suddenly, they can’t stop thinking about each other. They’ve got nothing in common, except a tiny stubborn streak and a whole lot of chemistry.

The other Hotel Kings all found love on the job and they’re betting Lucas and Brigitte will, too. Can this pair prove that opposites really do attract, or will they let their differences divide them after all?

***Beverly Hills King is the sixth book in award-winning and USA Today bestselling author Claire Marti’s spin off contemporary romance series, California Suits. The series follows the adventures of five best friends who are opening a string of luxury boutique hotels from La Jolla to Monterey to Beverly Hills as each one finds true love…usually where he least expects it. Each book is a standalone.

Lucas’s rose to his feet, and his hands curled into fists. This a**hole wasn’t going to disrespect Brigitte. “I suggest you get out of here right now or I’ll remove you myself.”

“Lucas.” Brigitte’s voice was husky.

“I said now.” He took two steps toward the guy, who immediately jumped back.

“I don’t need to waste my time here.” With a curl of his lip, the “producer” scuttled away.

Once he ensured the guy was descending the stairs, Lucas sank back into his seat. He took a steadying breath before looking at Brigitte. What was this stab of protectiveness?

She considered him, a gleam in her smoky eyes. “You know, there was no need for you to defend me. That little man wasn’t worth it.”

He shrugged. “I know you had him handled but I will not sit by while someone speaks to you that way.” Call him old-fashioned, but his mother had taught him to be a gentleman. And he’d learned at a young age that nasty people tended to scurry off the moment someone called their bluff. Like that loser.

After a moment, her lips curved up. “Merci. I’m not used to people defending me, but he was a rude little creature, wasn’t he?”

“He was.” Warmth filled his chest. If she wasn’t used to someone having her back, he was happy to stand in.

5 Stars: Lynchburg Reads Book Blog: Lucas and Brigette were absolutely perfect to end the California Suits series! Being opposites in numerous ways, they create such a spectacular balance when they’re together. In fact, they bring all of the best qualities of the other out for the world to see. I loved how Lucas could feel that they had something special, yet he gives her plenty of time for her heart to catch up with his.

One of the best scenes in the book (okay, okay, so one beyond the spicy scenes!!) is when they have lunch with his parents. It gives us a glimpse at a deeper side to Lucas. I love how they can see right through him – especially his dad.

My favorite line was actually said by Jon – “Lucas Sutton, you are smitten. I love it.”

5 Stars—Katie O’Sullivan’s Book Blog: Can total opposites drawn together like magnets really attract – oh yes, and then some! This is the last – and arguably the best – of the Hotel Kings series, and if you haven’t already read them all you definitely should. You’re in for a treat!

5 Stars––Show me theLove: The final installment in Claire Marti’s California Suits series is a banger. Lucas and Brigitte are a steamy, he falls first, slow burn, opposites attract romance that I raced through…highly recommend!

5 Stars––Donna Goodreads: Beverly Hills King does NOT disappoint! Lucas might be my favorite of all the Hotel Kings, and that’s saying something, because each one is more smoking hot than the last one.

Even if the vibrant, easy-going woman would be attracted to someone as tightly wound and nerdy as him, he wasn’t the kind of guy who could handle a fling.
